Delete data and account

This page exists so that you can request deletion without installing the app. It describes what is true today, not what is planned.

How it stands today

Mëso Shqip has no accounts in operation. The free tier — which is all there is today — has no login, no email address and no server to store anything on. So there is nothing at our end to delete for you.

Everything the app knows about your child is on the device: nickname, animal symbol, XP, medals, streak, the review cards, an optional four-digit code and the device settings. We have never had a copy.

So there is only one deletion that is possible today, and it happens on the device.

Deleting on the device — four steps

  1. Tap 👪 For parents on the start screen.
  2. Solve the sum. The gate exists so that a child cannot do this by accident.
  3. Choose 🔐 Your data. It shows exactly what is stored on the device.
  4. Tap 🗑️ Delete everything on this device and type the word SLETT. Everything goes at once, and the app starts fresh.

The same screen has ⬇️ Download your data, which gives you a file with everything the app has stored, before you delete. The file is made on your device and is not sent anywhere.

Uninstalling the app removes the same things. In the web version, clear the browser storage for mesoshqip.eu.

When accounts arrive

The full version will require one account — yours, not the child's — with your email address. The day it exists, this is what applies:

  • This is deleted: the account, the email address, every child profile with nickname and animal symbol, all progress on all devices, the entitlement to the full version and the receipt rows.
  • This stays: a record that the deletion happened — the timestamp, a cryptographic fingerprint of the account ID and how many rows were deleted. Not your email, not the names. We have to be able to show that we deleted, without keeping who it was.
  • This is not ours: your subscription with Apple or Google. That is cancelled in the store. If you delete the account without cancelling there, the charges continue.
  • How long it takes: the progress and the account go immediately. The login is removed from the authentication system within 30 days, because it is deleted in a separate step.

The delete button belongs inside the app, behind the parent gate, on the same screen as access and export. This page is the route for anyone who does not have the app installed.

Request deletion

The form below opens your own email client with a message ready to send. We have no form server — this site cannot send anything anywhere, and that is deliberate. You can see exactly what is sent, and to whom.

If you have an account, write from the address the account is on. If you have none, any address we can reply to is enough.

Your address is used to handle and answer the request, and to document that we handled it. The basis is GDPR Article 6(1)(c) — we are required to answer. The request is deleted no later than 12 months after it is closed.

What happens next

We answer within 30 days, as GDPR Article 12 requires. If the request is complicated we may extend by two months — and we say so within the first month.

If you write today, the answer will most likely be that there is nothing at our end to delete, because there are no accounts yet. We would rather say that plainly than confirm a deletion that never happened.
